We will be hosting a homeschool course for learning outside at the farm! Through nature walks, time with goats, (Including baby chicks!) digging in the garden, small building projects, and other ways to connect head knowledge to your hands. Students will be planting their own plants and tending to them, learning how to care for goats, identifying plants, building fires, and possibly building teepees with wood they cut down! (Depending on age and ability)
Even if there is inclement weather, class will occur. We have a barn to protect from rain, and a hay loft to protect from wind. Feel free to bring snacks or even a picnic lunch before class. Stay tuned as the lessons covered will be posted in March.
Class size is limited to 10 families.
This is possible as a drop off class - or a chance to stay with your students. The exact lessons will be tailored to the age brackets signed up.
The class curriculum is heavily influenced by Waldorf Nature School ideas and Montessori teaching methods, although it is 100% created by us at Shipshape Farm.
This course can be customized for 5-13 year olds.
